Frequently Asked Questions about Flexball

  • Does the Flexball throttle also fit my ship?

Electronic engine controls can be used on any vessel, as long as they are not used as side mounts.

  • Is the Flexball electronic throttle safe?

Yes, very safe indeed! The system meets all requirements and has the Rina quality mark, ISO9001. The system is equipped with emergency control, unique compared to other brands!

  • What happens in case of a power failure?

In the unlikely event of a power failure to the engines, you have the option of manually switching to emergency operation so that the electronic throttles continue to function.

  • Are the Flexball throttles waterproof?

Yes, the throttles are waterproof IP67 and of course resistant to salt water.

  • What material is the Flexball made of?

The Flexball throttle levers are made of stainless steel 316, seawater resistant stainless steel.

  • I currently have the Morse throttle bodies and am wondering if the Flexball will fit on them.

Yes, a stainless steel adapter plate is available so that the Flexball throttle can be transferred to the place of the Morse throttle.

  • How long does the installation take?

An average installation for a ship with 1 engine is between 4 and 8 hours, for a ship with 2 engines between 8 and 12 hours. We do not recommend installing it yourself. It is better to have the system carried out by a certified installer.

  • Is the system available in 12V and 24V?

Yes, when ordering you indicate whether it concerns a 12V or 24V on-board network.

  • My bike has an electronic reversing clutch and a mechanical fuel pump. Can I use the flexball throttle in this situation?

Yes, that is certainly possible, but please contact us before placing an order.

  • Electronic throttles shift very smooth and light. I would like a bit more resistance. Is that possible?
